About Me

About Me

Hi! I’m Tionna Taite, a law student from Alabama. When I was a freshman in college, I founded the first Black student-led magazine at the University of Alabama entitled Nineteen Fifty-Six. During my time as the founding Editor-in-Chief, the magazine reached over 46,884 readers and secured $30,000+ in donations to spotlight Black culture and student experiences for years to come. As Miss Black Alabama USA 2022, I advocated for diverse media by amplifying critical issues through speeches and presentations. As the creator of Legally Blessed, I am excited to use my legal skills, journalistic prowess, and leadership experience to continue to empower marginalized communities.

The disproportionate amount of minority students who are unable to easily pursue their educational goals motivates me to pursue the study of law. I will not only be an attorney, but I will also strive to increase educational opportunities for underprivileged and minority students. This is extremely important to me because many minority students have talents and aspirations that are often vacated because they do not have access to the basic educational resources they need. As a Black female attorney, I will utilize my experience to challenge the laws that create educational barriers for minority students. In addition, I will challenge the systems that allow racial inequities to persist in education, housing, and the justice system.
